12 Hours of Fury 2015

On November 21, hundreds of mountain bikers convened at McDowell Mountain Park, just outside our awesome town of Fountain Hills, to race the 12 Hours of Fury. You guessed it – it’s a 12 hour mountain bike event, held on a 15 mile course in the Park. Competitors can choose to race solo, with a friend or with 3 mates for a quad relay team.

We had several MMC teams in the race and all rode very well and had a blast! Here’s a little photo recap of the day, along with some quotes from our MMC Ride Crew.

12 Hours of Fury 2015

Having fun with your team by sharing 12 hours of your day riding bikes, laughing, and encouraging each other to do a little bit more.  – Dee “Mama Bear” Brown

Great fun. Awesome team. Raced with and against new and old friends. So glad I didn’t have to do a third lap!! – Shandra “Ranch Girl” Lee

My teammates made it my favorite way to race a 12 or 24 hour mountain bike race. You get to ride a few laps at your very best and return to cheers and beer….or hard cider if you are a pansy like me. – Helen “Snowflake” Wanamaker

Super fun to shred some dirt with my partner Heidi and represent MMC with a lot of Glitter and a little bit of Grit. – Emma “Can’t Repeat Her Nickname” Bandol.

Prime trails, classy and fast teammates, money in the bank weather, and the most refresher post race beer! – Ryan “Z-Man” Zilka, aka Skidmark

And as for me, I had a blast hurling my dad-bod all over that course, hanging with friends and catching up with people I haven’t seen in a while. But the best was having my little girl come out to her first bike race. Such a great day!
