Fountain Hills was fortunate to have two great bike shops, McDowell Mountain Cycles and Fountain Hills Bikes. In 2023, we came together as one shop under the banner of MMC. The same great products and staff, now one location making for a super great bike shop experience.
At MMC, we are lovers of all things bike. Our lives have been changed and improved by riding bikes, by the challenges it presents and by the people we’ve met along the way.
Just over the hill from Scottsdale, Fountain Hills is a great town and a great riding destination, and every great riding town needs an excellent bike shop. We’ve built McDowell Mountain Cycles to be both the best neighborhood bike shop we can be, to serve our community and to be a destination for those from out of town.

They made our emergency theirs and turned what was feeling like disaster into success with my daughter's bike at a critical time (she's new on a national MTB development team and came to Scottsdale for team camp but her bike was non functional and your crew took us in before 8am and got us out the door by 9 with all fixed!--and coffee and a hug to go!

Great job on my Cannondale tune and upgrade. New bars, new grips, new tires, and new drive train. Its like having a new ride...thank you!!! Also got my old Gary Fischer ready for visitors, rode it the other day...smooth!!

I had taken my Pivot Mach 6 to two different shops to correct what seemed to be a derailleur alignment problem. Both stores said mission accomplished. Neither had remedied the problem and one even made it worse. Your store not only remedied the problem but corrected an issue made by one of the previous stores. Your store is a 45 minute commute for me whereas the other two stores are five and ten minutes away. I will happily commute the 45 minutes for future repairs/services as it's a small price to pay for competent, professional service.

I had a problem with my Kestrel road bike which made it completely unusable I needed parts which were proprietary to Kestrel and not available anywhere. I went to three bike shops locally and attempted to contact Kestrel several times without response let alone assistance. The other bike shops said they didn't carry or service Kestrels ( no one does within 1,000 miles). McDowell Mountain agreed to try to come up with a fix. They manufactured a repair for the problem which is at least as good as the original design. They charged me very little for the repair; far less than it was worth to me. It's nice to have a company who will work with you even when it's not in their financial interest to do so. I highly recommend them for all of your bicycle needs. They will stand by their products but most of all, they will stand by you.

I love this family owned cycle shop! These guys are not just knowledgeable about bikes, they are also passionate about riding together. MMC has created a strong community of riders. While there are many bike shops nearer our home, we drive from Scottsdale to Fountain Hills to experience this bike shop. They know us! They know their riders! Their service is top notch. If you need anything related to bikes, this shop is truly special!

I asked for help finding a bell for a mountain bike. Rob showed me where it was. Then Tyson took the time to tell me how to install it and changes the product had made since I last bought one. Just love the way MMC treats female cyclists. I am a cyclist who happens to be female - not a female who doesn’t know much and probably won’t spend any money (many shops treat me that way). They take into account my size, strength and experience when making suggestions and recommendations. Thanks MMC for being such a great bike shop for women!

Mike was amazing! He took the time to show my son how to change out the tubes in the tires and what to do for a tune up. We love coming to MMC for these guys and their love of sharing cycling knowledge.
