Have you ever got towards the end of a long road ride wishing it would be over, counting the turns left until your driveway is in sight? Does your lower back get sore and shoulders get tired? With Trek’s new ISO Speed technology they’ve made it possible to have some extra cushion on the road bike.
The Trek Domane is the only bike we didn’t ever want to get off of. The ISO Speed link located just below where the seat post enters the frame allows for a rear suspension like feel. This gives the bike a lot of cushion over bumps, while still remaining very stiff, a term in the bike nerds call “vertical compliance.”
Another technology, relatively new to road bikes are disc brakes, a feature offered on Trek’s Domane. If you’ve ever ridden a rim brake in the rain and had to slam on the brakes, you know that the stopping power is significantly decreased in wet conditions. With disc brakes however, you have greater braking power and more importantly consistent braking power through all varying conditions.
With a wide variety of fame/component packages in the Domane lineup it makes for owning a Domane as a 1-2 day a week rider looking for some extra comfort on the road bike just a accessible as your pro racer looking for the highest end components.
