Our “Jersey of the Month” is not a race jersey, but one from the Penticton Triathlon Club in British Columbia. The PTC jersey is hanging proudly at MMC thanks to one of our many Canadian friends.
The year 2020, was a year of cancelled and postponed races. One race that organizers were able to pull off in 2020 after a six month delay, was the “Gravel Nationals” hosted by the city of Lawrence, Kansas and presented by United States Endurance Cycling.
Each month we highlight one of the special jerseys that you see hanging on the walls at McDowell Mountain Cycles. This month, the champion jersey (Harry managed to bring one home to MMC) from the “Gravel Worlds” race in Lincoln, Nebraska is our jersey of the month.
Our “Jersey of the Month” is the race leader’s jersey from the Cactus Cup. We are proud to display the coveted leader’s jersey at MMC thanks to our great friend and racer, Mike Hicks.
This month, we are featuring a jersey for an event that many of us may not know much about, the RAGBRAI. If you are like me and are wondering what the heck a RAGBRAI is, it’s quite simple. The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, RAGBRAI.
The Haute Route is a seven day stage race over some of the most spectacular roads and climbs in Colorado. Over the seven days, racers covered over 500 miles and climbed almost 50,000 feet, including the epic and iconic climb of Pikes Peak.
This month we feature one of our framed jerseys (and championship vest). It is from a race that is usually held this first weekend in June, when folks from all over the country and world congregate in the small town of Emporia, Kansas for the DIRTY KANZA races.
Our jersey trivia this month highlights the “La Ruta de los Conquistadores” stage race held each year in Costa Rica. La Ruta, as it is commonly called, takes riders from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast of Costa Rica.

You will notice when you are in MMC that we have jerseys on display throughout the shop. All of these jerseys have special stories and special events attached to them. We thought it would be fun to “highlight” a jersey each month and share its story.
